Cooper Island, British Virgin Islands.

For finding a place to moor up overnight this tiny island is the perfect setting, with no roads, nightclubs or crowds. Arrive in the late afternoon for a spot of snorkelling and sunbathing on the white sand, palm-fringed beach. Then watch the sun go down with a G&T or Rum Punch or two before taking the dinghy to the lovely beach restaurant. Decked out with fairly lights, it’s a very mellow location for a casual candlelit dinner.

British Virgin Islands.

This is the ideal place for couples to sail off into the sunset, with romantic beaches, crystal clear waters, amazing sea life and unbelievable sunsets. The new Sunsail base on Tortola is impressive, too. Most of the BVIs are actually a national park so if you are a keen diver there are plenty of wrecks and dive sites. The snorkelling is pretty impressive as well. Marvel at Richard Branson’s Necker Island and look up White Bay on Jost van Dyke and have a drink at the Soggy Dollar beach bar.
